Job Description
Job Title: Operations & Accounting Intern Role Summary: Provide hands‑on support across the investment fund lifecycle, including trade capture, daily reconciliations, fund accounting, and compliance monitoring. Collaborate with Operations, Accounting, Compliance, and Investor Relations to improve processes through automation and AI. Expectations: - Junior or senior undergrad, or 1st/2nd year graduate student, preferably pursuing CPA or accounting track. - Minimum 3 months, up to 6 months; part‑time or full‑time. - Demonstrate high performance to qualify for potential full‑time offer. Key Responsibilities: - Reconcile daily positions and cash across portfolios, brokers, custodians, and administrators. - Book trade adjustments, monitor activity, resolve trade breakdowns, and support risk and compliance monitoring. - Prepare accurate daily, weekly, and monthly reports for internal and investor stakeholders. - Identify and design AI or automation solutions to streamline workflows. - Assist in financial planning, budgeting, expense allocation, and reporting. - Support annual audit: prepare schedules, gather documentation, liaise with auditors. - Process subscriptions, withdrawals, expense accruals, and monthly fund close tasks. - Conduct compliance monitoring, testing, and participation in ad‑hoc projects. Required Skills: - Strong analytical and detail‑oriented mindset. - Excellent written and verbal communication. - Proactive, organized, and able to manage multiple deadlines. - Collaborative team player in a high‑trust, small‑team environment. - Familiarity with finance software (e.g., Bloomberg, Excel, accounting systems). - Interest in AI/automation applications within operations and compliance. Required Education & Certifications: - Current enrollment in an undergraduate or graduate program with CPA‑track coursework. - CPA exam parts completed preferred; or will complete CPA designation within 6 months. - Prior internship experience in financial services operations, accounting, or compliance is advantageous. - Advanced coursework in investment accounting, financial reporting, or regulatory compliance.
