Job Description
**Job Title** Summer Student Field Engineering Technologist – Kaybob Region **Role Summary** Assist in the operation, maintenance, and monitoring of field equipment and processing facilities in the Kaybob region for a 4‑month summer term (May – August 2026). Provide on‑site support to field teams, develop practical experience in petroleum engineering technology, and contribute to safety and operational excellence. **Expectations** - Enrolled in the 1st–4th year of a Chemical or Petroleum Engineering Technology Diploma program (SAIT, NAIT, U of Calgary, or U of Alberta). - Able to work full‑time during the term and willing to relocate to Fox Creek/Whitecourt area. - Legally entitled to work in Canada (citizenship, permanent residency, or valid work permit). - Valid private driver’s licence and current driver’s abstract. - Pass pre‑employment drug & alcohol test. - Willing to work overtime and follow a 8 days on/6 days off schedule (10‑hour days). - Strong team‑working skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to safety and learning feedback. **Key Responsibilities** - Support field teams in operation & maintenance of drilling/performance monitoring equipment. - Observe and assist in the operation of surface and processing facilities (e.g., separators, water‑handling, gas‑handling). - Record process data, log equipment performance, and prepare daily operation reports. - Participate in routine safety checks, HSE briefings, and regulatory compliance activities. - Attend training sessions and shadow experienced technologists to learn industrial processes. - Contribute to troubleshooting support and minor repair tasks under supervision. **Required Skills** - Basic understanding of petroleum and chemical engineering processes. - Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and data logs. - Strong written and verbal communication skills. - Ability to work independently and collaboratively on multidisciplinary teams. - Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and field‑logging software. - Physical stamina for field duties, including lifting up to 20 kg and working in varying weather conditions. **Required Education & Certifications** - Current enrollment in an approved Engineering Technology Diploma (Chemical or Petroleum). - Valid Canadian work permit, citizenship, or permanent residency. - Current driver’s licence and valid driver abstract. - No specific academic GPA required, but GPA may be considered during selection. ---
