Job Description
**Job title:** Fire & Security Technician **Role Summary:** Install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair fire prevention and electronic security systems for commercial and residential premises, ensuring compliance with safety standards and optimal system performance. **Expectations:** - Deliver reliable system functionality through proactive maintenance and rapid issue resolution. - Uphold safety, quality, and regulatory compliance across all undertakings. - Communicate clearly with clients and team members to coordinate tasks and report progress. **Key Responsibilities:** - Install and configure fire detection, suppression, and alarm systems, as well as electronic surveillance devices. - Conduct routine inspections and preventive maintenance on all security and fire safety equipment. - Diagnose and repair faults in alarm, CCTV, access control, and related networked systems. - Verify system performance against occupational health and safety regulations and relevant codes. - Document all work, generate service reports, and update asset records. - Coordinate with network security specialists to address connectivity and cybersecurity concerns. - Train end‑users on basic operation and safety procedures. **Required Skills:** - Proficient in troubleshooting and maintaining fire safety and electronic security systems. - Knowledge of basic cybersecurity and network security principles. - Skilled in setting up and servicing alarm and access control systems. - Understanding of occupational health and safety protocols. - Strong written and oral communication. - Detail‑oriented and able to work independently or as part of a team. **Required Education & Certifications:** - Minimum of a secondary education diploma or equivalent. - Certifications in fire safety, security technology, or electronics (e.g., NFPA 72, CompTIA Security+, or equivalent) highly advantageous. - Prior professional experience in a similar role preferred.
