Job Title: Senior System Administrator
Role Summary
Lead and execute end‑to‑end systems administration across physical and virtual infrastructure. Design, deploy, and optimize servers, networks, security, and cloud services while providing advanced desktop and user support. Serve as the primary technical resource for SharePoint Online, Microsoft 365, and overall IT operations with a focus on reliability, security, and customer service.
Expectations
* 6‑month temp-to-perm assignment.
* Deliver high‑quality system design, implementation, and maintenance.
* Maintain 99.9% uptime for critical IT services.
* Advocate and implement security best practices, compliance, and disaster recovery.
* Provide responsive technical support and maintain comprehensive documentation.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with IT leadership to monitor, test, and maintain technology infrastructure.
- Lead planning, design, and deployment of servers, VMs, network hardware, firewalls, access points, and printers.
- Create and manage standard images for servers and client devices; perform backup creation, monitoring, and restoration testing.
- Deliver advanced endpoint support—troubleshooting, installation, inventory, and testing.
- Administer and optimize SharePoint Online and Microsoft 365 services.
- Manage Active Directory accounts, permissions, and password resets; monitor Office 365, EDR, and Entra ID for security incidents.
- Conduct vulnerability remediation, firmware upgrades, configuration backups, and application of patches.
- Oversee hardware and software deployment, inventory management, procurement, and lifecycle.
- Coordinate disaster recovery and business continuity testing.
- Facilitate onboarding/offboarding for IT systems and liaise with internal and external stakeholders on IT projects.
- Provide technical support for desktop hardware, printers, VoIP, and conference room equipment.
- Document procedures, helpdesk tickets, and log infrastructure-related tasks.
Required Skills
- Proficient with desktops, laptops, servers, NAS/SAN, printers, switches, firewalls, mobile devices, DVRs, projectors, wireless access points, and VoIP.
- Deep knowledge of Windows (10/11, Server 2016‑2022), Synology DSM, Ubuntu Linux; virtualization platforms (Hyper‑V, VMware, Hyper‑Kit); backup/patch management tools.
- Experienced in Microsoft 365 Administration, EDR, and Office 365 compliance tools.
- Strong SharePoint Online administration skills.
- Ability to administer Active Directory/DNS/DHCP, VPN, remote management, backup, and endpoint protection solutions.
- Familiar with NIST 800‑53 controls, vulnerability remediation, AWS, and SonicWall.
- Excellent problem‑solving, prioritization, project management, and written/verbal communication abilities.
Required Education & Certifications
- Bachelor’s degree in IT or related field OR equivalent industry experience.
- Professional certifications: Microsoft 365 Administration, Network+/CCNA or equivalent, Linux+/LPIC‑1, Security+ (or equivalents).
