Job Title: Land Surveyor
Role Summary:
Conducts detailed land and site surveys using GNSS, total stations, LiDAR, photogrammetry, and GIS. Translates survey data into accurate maps, drawings, and reports for construction, property, environmental, and infrastructure projects. Supports project planning, progress monitoring, and compliance with regulatory standards.
Expectations:
- Deliver precise measurements and survey data within agreed timelines.
- Maintain high standards of accuracy, documentation, and quality control.
- Apply best‑practice techniques and emerging technologies in surveying.
- Communicate findings clearly to project teams, clients, and stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform on‑site topographic, boundary, and construction surveys for sites such as airports, quarries, pipelines, and redevelopment areas.
- Operate GNSS receivers, total stations, drones, and other precision instruments.
- Process and analyze collected data in GIS and CAD software to produce contour maps, design drawings, and elevation models.
- Monitor land changes during construction phases, update survey records, and advise on adjustments.
- Prepare technical reports, survey statements, and evidence for approvals and client briefings.
- Coordinate with contractors, engineers, and regulatory bodies to ensure survey accuracy and compliance.
- Manage project documentation, file maintenance, and data archiving.
Required Skills:
- Technical proficiency with survey instruments (GNSS, total stations, LiDAR).
- Advanced GIS and CAD (AutoCAD, Civil 3D, QGIS) skills.
- Strong analytical and mathematical abilities.
- Attention to detail and accuracy in measurements and documentation.
- Effective verbal and written communication.
- Ability to work independently and as part of multidisciplinary teams.
- Problem‑solving and initiative in addressing on‑site challenges.
Required Education & Certifications:
- Bachelor’s degree accredited by the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) in surveying, civil engineering, geomatics, or geographical information science.
- RICS membership or equivalent professional designation preferred.
- Construction Skills Certification Scheme (CSCS) card (or equivalent) may be required for on‑site work.
- Continuous learning in emerging surveying technologies and industry standards.
