**Job title**
Lead Full‑Stack Engineer (PropTech SaaS)
**Role Summary**
Lead engineering design, delivery, and mentorship for a high‑growth prop‑tech SaaS platform. Provide architectural oversight, drive technical strategy, and actively contribute to code across frontend, backend, and data layers while fostering an autonomous, high‑performing engineering culture.
**Expectations**
- Deliver high‑quality code on a daily basis while guiding strategic technical direction.
- Mentor mid‑level engineers, champion best practices, and promote continuous learning.
- Partner with product, data, and design leaders to shape the technical roadmap.
- Ensure reliability, scalability, and maintainability across all platform components.
- Own end‑to‑end delivery of complex projects: discovery, implementation, monitoring, and optimisation.
**Key Responsibilities**
- Architect and review frontend, backend, and data infrastructure, balancing speed, scope, and scale.
- Set engineering standards; implement best practices for reliability and scalability.
- Lead cross‑functional squads; facilitate communication between engineering, data science, design, and product.
- Mentor senior and mid‑level engineers through pairing, design reviews, and coaching.
- Design and ship performant React (Vite)+Tailwind UI components.
- Build scalable APIs with Node.js, Express, and tRPC.
- Own PostgreSQL maintenance, query optimisation, and Elasticsearch architecture.
- Translate technical challenges into actionable insights for non‑technical stakeholders.
- Identify and execute opportunities to improve product performance, reliability, and developer experience.
**Required Skills**
- 7+ years software engineering, 2–3 in lead/senior roles.
- Proven experience building and scaling SaaS platforms.
- Leadership in architecture and system design.
- Deep knowledge of React (Vite), Tailwind, Node.js, Express, tRPC.
- Strong database skills: PostgreSQL, Elasticsearch.
- Experience mentoring/managing engineering teams.
- Excellent communication and influence skills.
- Comfortable with multidisciplinary collaboration (data science, design, product).
- Ownership‑driven, proactive mindset.
**Required Education & Certifications**
- Right to work in the UK.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
- No mandatory certifications; relevant cloud or architecture credentials are a plus.
