Job Description
**Job Title** Director, National Accounts, Managed Markets **Role Summary** Lead national payer strategy to secure formulary placement, reimbursement, and patient access for a broad portfolio of brand and complex generic drugs. Build and manage relationships with large commercial insurers, PBMs, Medicare/Medicaid programs, and government payers. Drive pre‑ and post‑launch market preparation, coordinate cross‑functional execution, and negotiate account‑specific business plans. **Expectations** - Develop and execute coverage and reimbursement strategies that maximize patient access and optimize product coverage. - Manage end‑to‑end account relationships for key national payers, PBMs, and government entities. - Deliver value propositions to payer stakeholders and influence formulary decisions. - Collaborate with marketing, field sales, legal, and market access teams to translate payer needs into commercial actions. - Guide pre‑PDUFA and post‑PDUFA launch activities, ensuring alignment with commercial objectives. **Key Responsibilities** 1. Design and implement formulary, coverage, coding, and payment tactics for target payers. 2. Deliver product and economic benefit presentations to national payer decision‑makers. 3. Lead and maintain relationships with national and regional payers, PBMs, and payer influencers. 4. Generate pull‑through opportunities by aligning with payer formulary status. 5. Coordinate with legal and market access to negotiate contracts and account business plans. 6. Oversee pull‑through of specialty products with field and virtual sales teams, including child‑account management. 7. Represent the organization at payer meetings and internal leadership forums. **Required Skills** - Deep knowledge of US market access, Medicare (MA‑PD, PDP), Medicaid, and PBM operations. - Proven experience in pre‑ and post‑PDUFA launch strategy and reimbursement negotiations. - Strong strategic planning and execution capabilities. - Effective communication and stakeholder engagement skills. - Leadership and cross‑functional collaboration. - Ability to analyze reimbursement landscapes and translate insights into actionable plans. **Required Education & Certifications** - Bachelor’s degree (BA/BS) required; MBA or advanced degree preferred. - Minimum 10 + years of pharmaceutical/biotech market‑access experience with national payers/PBMs. - Minimum 15 + years total pharmaceutical/biotech industry experience.
