**Job title**: Senior Hydro‑Mechanical Systems Engineer
**Role Summary**: Lead the design, analysis, and integration of hydro‑mechanical subsystems for high‑performance applications, ensuring structural integrity, reliability, and compliance with relevant industry standards.
**Expectations**: Deliver technical leadership, mentor junior staff, collaborate with cross‑functional teams, drive continuous improvement, and maintain strict quality and safety standards.
**Key Responsibilities**
1. Conduct advanced fluid dynamics, thermal, and mechanical analyses (CFD, FEM, reliability) to validate subsystem performance.
2. Develop detailed design specifications, test plans, and manufacturing guidelines for components such as pumps, valves, seals, and fluid handling systems.
3. Own the complete design life‑cycle: concept, verification, validation, and qualification, ensuring all deliverables meet project and regulatory requirements.
4. Evaluate supplier design proposals, perform trade studies, and negotiate cost/quality targets.
5. Review and approve design documentation (drawings, bills of materials, test reports) and drive design change approvals.
6. Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues during development and production.
7. Mentor junior engineers and contribute to knowledge sharing across engineering teams.
**Required Skills**
- Strong foundation in fluid mechanics, thermodynamics, and mechanical design principles.
- Proficiency with CAD (SolidWorks, CATIA, NX) and simulation tools (ANSYS, Abaqus, Fluent).
- Experience leading hydro‑mechanical system projects in aerospace, automotive, or medical device industries.
- Excellent problem‑solving, written communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Strong project management abilities, including scheduling, risk assessment, and cost control.
**Required Education & Certifications**
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, or related engineering discipline.
- Master’s degree or equivalent advanced technical experience preferred.
- Professional Engineering (PE) license or equivalent certification advantageous.
