Vice President of Product Development
**Role Summary**
Lead end‑to‑end product development for a luxury furniture brand, translating brand strategy into a high‑quality, on‑time product roadmap. Build and scale cross‑functional teams, processes, and manufacturing partnerships to support multi‑category growth while upholding stringent brand standards.
**Expectations**
- Deliver a best‑in‑class luxury product assortment that meets or exceeds brand and customer expectations.
- Scale the product development function, including people, systems, and partner network, to support accelerated growth.
- Demonstrate full accountability for roadmap execution, quality metrics, and financial targets.
**Key Responsibilities**
- Own the product strategy and road‑map in partnership with the CEO, defining clear milestones and success metrics.
- Collaborate with Design and Sourcing to prioritize launches, sequence product development, and shape long‑term assortment strategy.
- Design, implement, and continuously improve stage‑gate processes, calendars, and tools for transparency and predictability.
- Lead the assessment, onboarding, and technical stewardship of manufacturing partners, ensuring optimal fit for quality and capability.
- Resolve technical challenges with partners, driving improvements in construction, quality, and efficiency.
- Champion a quality‑focused culture by setting specifications, monitoring brand standards, and using data to drive product refinements.
- Recruit, coach, and develop a high‑performing product development organization, establishing clear roles and growth pathways.
- Foster a culture of excellence, accountability, and cross‑functional collaboration across the senior leadership team.
**Required Skills**
- 15+ years of progressive leadership in luxury furniture or related high‑end brand.
- Deep technical knowledge of furniture and upholstery materials, construction techniques, and performance standards.
- Proven expertise in product development lifecycle: engineering, prototyping, testing, commercialisation.
- Track record of building and executing ambitious multi‑category roadmaps.
- Experience scaling teams, processes, and systems in a high‑growth environment.
- Strong data‑driven decision‑making, prioritisation, and trade‑off capabilities.
- Exceptional cross‑functional relationship building with senior leaders.
- Advanced supplier relationship management, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills.
- Demonstrated hiring, development, and retention of top talent.
**Required Education & Certifications**
- Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Design, Mechanical Engineering, Business Administration, or equivalent.
- Advanced degrees or certifications (e.g., MBA, FPTA) are a plus but not mandatory.
