**Security Officer 2** **Role Summary**: Ensures safety and security for hospital facilities, employees, patients, and visitors by patrolling assigned areas, responding to emergencies, and enforcing facility policies. Safeguards assets and property while maintaining order and collaborating with law enforcement. **Expactations**: - Demonstrate strong interpersonal skills and public relations capabilities. - Prioritize critical thinking, problem-solving, and stress management under pressure. - Adhere to safety protocols, regulations, and departmental policies. - Achieve and maintain certification milestones within designated timelines (e.g., Texas Commission on Private Security Academy levels, firearms qualifications). **Key Responsibilities**: - Patrol assigned areas to detect safety hazards, unauthorized individuals, or potential criminal activity. - Intervene in disturbances, enforce rules, and assist with medical emergencies per training. - Respond to public service calls (e.g., hospital violations, parking assistance, vehicle unlocking). - Maintain secure facilities by managing door access, issuing parking citations, and controlling traffic. - Cooperate with law enforcement, support investigations, and document incidents (e.g., theft, safety hazards) accurately. - Safeguard confidential information during investigations and liaise with security teams. **Required Skills**: - Interpersonal/public relations, conflict resolution, time management. - Clear written and verbal communication. - General computer literacy (software/data entry/security applications). - Familiarity with safety regulations and incident reporting standards. - Ability to operate scanning devices and communicate effectively via radio. **Required Education & Certifications**: - High school diploma/GED equivalent. - Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 30 days of hire. - Commissioned Security Officer (LSO) certification within 6 months. - Valid Texas Driver’s License (if relocating, obtain within 90 days). - Successful completion of Texas Commission on Private Security Academy Levels II/III within 3 months. - Minimum 80% score in firearms qualification and requalification.
