IT Category Manager (Technology Sourcing & Vendor Governance)
**Role Summary**
Lead commercial sourcing and supplier governance for a large-scale technology transformation within a major UK bank. Focus on technology categories (software, SaaS, cloud, cyber, infrastructure), deliver value, and ensure compliance with regulatory, InfoSec, and data protection standards across a complex, multi‑vendor environment.
**Expectations**
- Execute commercial negotiations on multi‑million pound contracts.
- Drive transformation procurement and vendor management across software, cloud, and cyber categories.
- Influence senior stakeholders in Technology, Cyber, Architecture, and Legal.
- Maintain rigorous governance (SLAs, KPIs, risk controls) throughout the programme.
- Ensure adherence to banking regulatory and data protection requirements.
**Key Responsibilities**
- Lead sourcing strategy for software licensing, SaaS subscription/consumption models, cloud agreements (AWS/Azure/GCP), enterprise agreements, and multi‑year transformation procurements.
- Negotiate terms, manage contracts, and deliver commercial value.
- Oversee supplier governance, including performance monitoring, SLA enforcement, KPI reporting, and risk assessment.
- Partner with internal stakeholders (Technology, Cyber, Architecture, Legal) to align procurement with technical and regulatory needs.
- Ensure compliance with banking regulations, InfoSec, and data protection policies.
- Support procurement activities throughout the transformation programme and liaise with system integrators.
**Required Skills**
- Strong technology category expertise in software, SaaS, cloud, cyber, and infrastructure.
- Proven strategic sourcing and negotiation experience on multi‑million pound contracts.
- Experience with enterprise agreements, subscription models, consumption‑based pricing, and cloud frameworks.
- Vendor/supplier governance in complex, regulated environments.
- Knowledge of technology risk, cyber resilience, and data protection considerations.
- Ability to influence senior stakeholders across Technology, Cyber, Architecture, and Legal.
- Experience working alongside system integrators.
- Preferred: Banking or highly regulated sector experience.
**Required Education & Certifications**
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Information Technology, or related field.
- Professional procurement or vendor management certification (e.g., CIPS, PMP, or equivalent) preferred.
