Job Description
Job title: Junior Cybersecurity Engineer (M/F) Role Summary: Support the implementation of the organization’s security policy, collaborate closely with IT teams to detect, investigate, and remediate security incidents, and contribute to continuous improvement of security practices. Expectations: - Contribute to a secure IT environment through proactive monitoring and vulnerability management. - Respond effectively to tickets, incidents, and user queries. - Stay current with emerging threats, regulations, and security technologies. - Communicate security information clearly to technical and non‑technical stakeholders. Key Responsibilities: 1. Conduct regular security assessments of systems and networks to identify vulnerabilities. 2. Monitor infrastructure for anomalies and suspect activity, escalating as needed. 3. Provide user support via email or phone concerning security issues, best practices, and incident reporting. 4. Manage security‑related tickets in an ITSM platform, ensuring timely resolution. 5. Assist with incident detection, investigation, containment, and recovery. 6. Participate in patching and updating of operating systems and security tools (EDR, DLP, firewalls). 7. Maintain documentation of procedures, incidents, and corrective actions. 8. Support employee security awareness training and communications. 9. Research new threats and security technologies, recommending improvements. 10. Monitor regulatory changes and update security policies accordingly. Required Skills: - Strong understanding of network protocols and troubleshooting. - Proficient with Windows and Linux operating systems. - Experience maintaining security tools (EDR, DLP, firewalls). - Basic programming/scripting knowledge (Python, PowerShell) preferred. - Risk analysis and mitigation planning. - Excellent written and verbal communication in English. - Team‑oriented, methodical, and resilient under stress. - Curiosity and a proactive approach to learning. Required Education & Certifications: - Master’s degree or equivalent engineering diploma in Computer Security, Information Security, or related field. - Proven knowledge of cybersecurity concepts and practices. - Strong command of English (oral and written). - Industry certifications (e.g., CompTIA Security+, CEH, CISSP) are a plus but not mandatory.
