**Job Title**
DevOps Engineer (Security Clearance)
**Role Summary**
Secure, scalable AWS infrastructure design, deployment, and support. Integrate security testing and automation into CI/CD pipelines. Deliver infrastructure as code, manage containerized workloads, and maintain performance and cost efficiency.
**Expectations**
* Work on a 6‑month contract.
* Hybrid schedule: 2 days per month onsite.
* Must hold a Scottish Security Clearance (SC).
* Actively participate in cross‑functional engineering and product teams.
**Key Responsibilities**
* Architect and operate secure AWS environments (EC2, S3, ECS, FARGATE).
* Implement infrastructure‑as‑code solutions with CloudFormation, Terraform, or CDK.
* Integrate SAST/DAST tools into CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitHub Actions, AWS CodePipeline).
* Configure and manage configuration‑management tools (Chef, Ansible).
* Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines, ensuring secure deployment flows.
* Deploy and run container workloads in ECS/FARGATE using Docker.
* Monitor infrastructure and applications via CloudWatch, CloudTrail, Datadog; optimize performance and cost.
* Manage VPC, TGW, subnets, and networking security; enforce governance with AWS Config, tagging policies.
* Troubleshoot and root‑cause Linux‑based system issues, analyze logs, and optimize performance.
* Produce and maintain architecture diagrams, SOPs, and documentation.
* Collaborate with engineering, product, and security teams to improve processes.
**Required Skills**
* AWS service expertise (EC2, S3, ECS, FARGATE, VPC, TGW, Config, CloudTrail).
* Infrastructure‑as‑code: CloudFormation, Terraform, or CDK.
* Configuration management: Chef and/or Ansible.
* CI/CD tools: Jenkins, GitHub Actions, AWS CodePipeline.
* Containerization: Docker, ECS/FARGATE.
* Security tooling: SAST, DAST, and integration into pipelines.
* Linux system administration (performance tuning, log analysis).
* Monitoring and observability: CloudWatch, Datadog.
* Strong networking fundamentals (VPC, subnets, routing, security groups).
* Excellent troubleshooting, documentation, and communication skills.
**Required Education & Certifications**
* Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent.
* AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Associate or equivalent professional certification.
* Experience with security compliance frameworks (ISO, SOC, NIST) preferred.
