Job Description
**Job Title:** Network and Security Engineer **Role Summary:** Design, implement, and maintain secure network infrastructure for a multi‑location organization. Protect data and systems from cyber threats, conduct risk assessments, and respond to security incidents. Train staff on security best practices and develop policies to ensure ongoing compliance. **Expectations:** - Deliver a resilient, secure network that supports business operations across multiple sites. - Reduce data loss, theft, and downtime through proactive risk management. - Lead incident response and continuously improve protection measures. - Provide clear, accurate documentation and communications about security status. - Maintain current industry knowledge and certifications. **Key Responsibilities:** - Administer network topology, including physical and logical device arrangements. - Identify and close security gaps; conduct regular vulnerability scans and risk assessments. - Manage network maintenance schedules to ensure uninterrupted uptime. - Diagnose and resolve network failures, implementing preventive solutions. - Standardize and template network and security equipment for new facilities. - Train employees in data security best practices; lead security workshops. - Respond to breaches, orchestrate mitigation, and document lessons learned. - Review and update security policies in line with emerging threats. - Perform additional duties as required by the technology team. **Required Skills:** - 5+ years of IT security experience. - Network administration and troubleshooting (hardware, software, routing, switching). - Cybersecurity fundamentals: risk assessment, threat mitigation, incident response. - Familiarity with security solutions (firewalls, IDS/IPS, VPNs, endpoint protection). - Ability to analyze security policies and recommend improvements. - Excellent written and verbal communication; capable of training audiences. - Proficiency with presentation tools (e.g., PowerPoint). - Strong problem‑solving, project management, and time‑management abilities. **Required Education & Certifications:** - Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Information Technology Management, Computer Science, or related field. - Current IT security certifications (CISSP, CISM, or CISA preferred).
