Job Description
**Job Title:** Data Standardization Specialist **Role Summary:** Responsible for maintaining the accuracy, consistency, and usability of master product data across multiple external and internal sources. Performs data cleansing, normalization, and mapping to align with company governance standards, supporting reporting, billing, and analytics functions. **Expectations:** - 1–3 years of relevant experience; college degree preferred - Strong analytical and problem‑solving aptitude - Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and comfort with evolving data tools - Ability to work independently and collaboratively, meeting tight deadlines and shifting priorities - Detail‑oriented, organized, and results‑driven with a focus on data integrity **Key Responsibilities:** - Clean, verify, and normalize product data from distributor feeds, manufacturer files, and internal systems. - Map distributor product information to manufacturer records using historical data, naming conventions, and external reference materials. - Update and maintain product attributes (brand, category, codes, etc.) in the central database. - Conduct routine data audits, identify inconsistencies, and implement corrective actions. - Develop and enforce data governance standards and best practices. - Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to streamline workflows and document data management procedures. - Participate in database sanitation projects and support testing of new data tools and automation solutions. **Required Skills:** - Data cleansing, validation, and normalization techniques - Data mapping and master data management fundamentals - Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (functions, pivot tables, macros) - Strong organizational and time‑management skills - Effective written and verbal communication - Problem‑solving and analytical reasoning - Adaptability to changing technologies and priorities **Required Education & Certifications:** - Bachelor’s degree in a related field (preferred) - 1–3 years’ experience in data management or the food‑service industry (preferred) - Certifications such as Certified Data Management Professional (CDMP) or equivalent are advantageous but not mandatory.
