**Job title:** Senior Business Development Manager
**Role Summary:**
Lead consultative, relationship‑driven business development for a UK‑based professional services firm in the financial services sector. Act as the first point of contact for complex client conversations with lenders, funders and investors, shaping early‑stage engagement, aligning solutions with governance and commercial objectives, and opening the door for technical delivery teams.

**Key Responsibilities:**
- Conduct senior‑level, consultative conversations with lenders, funders and investors.
- Identify, nurture and close new business opportunities via networking, events and inbound inquiries.
- Shape early‑stage discussions, introduce internal technical and client services teams, and collaborate on scope, proposals and delivery models.
- Serve as the “front door” to the organization, ensuring early‑stage engagement is aligned with firm expertise.
- Maintain commercially sound pricing and margin frameworks.
- Attend industry conferences and events to enhance market presence and insight.
- Contribute market intelligence and client feedback to marketing and wider business development.
**Required Skills:**
- Deep understanding of governance, controls, oversight and commercial decision‑making in financial services or lending environments.
- Proven ability to engage senior stakeholders and conduct balanced, commercially aware discussions.
- Consultative mindset with strong listening, diagnostic and solution‑shaping abilities.
- Comfortable navigating complex organizations, aligning multiple stakeholders.
- Professional presentation and communication skills suitable for executive audiences.

- Experience in treasury, lending services, portfolio management, audit, risk, advisory or related functions.
**Required Education & Certifications:**
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, economics, business administration or a related discipline.
- Professional finance or advisory certifications (e.g., CFA, CPA, ACCA, or equivalent) preferred.
