**Job Title:** Team Lead, Machine Learning
**Role Summary:**
Lead a high‑performance Machine Learning team, overseeing recruitment, coaching, and project delivery. Drive research‑and‑development initiatives aligned with company strategy, collaborate with Engineering to maintain scalable inference systems, and shape long‑term ML roadmaps.
**Expectations:**
- Demonstrate proven technical leadership and management in a senior engineering environment.
- Own ownership of end‑to‑end ML project life cycles, from concept through production and monitoring.
- Effectively communicate progress and impact to stakeholders and align ML work with broader product goals.
**Key Responsibilities:**
- Recruit, hire, and coach ML engineers, building a collaborative team culture.
- Lead R&D programs, prioritizing and delivering initiatives that support business objectives.
- Partner with Engineering to design, deploy, and maintain production‑grade inference pipelines.
- Ensure robust testing, CI/CD, monitoring, and performance optimization for ML models.
- Report on project status, metrics, and resource planning to executive stakeholders.
- Contribute to future product roadmaps, incorporating team insights and technical expertise.
**Required Skills:**
- Strong theoretical foundation in mathematics, computer science, and statistical learning.
- 5+ years of technical management experience, including senior engineer oversight.
- Deep experience with production ML systems: training, deployment, monitoring, and scaling.
- Proficient in Python (clean, maintainable, test‑driven code) with strong typing and CI/CD practices.
- Hands‑on knowledge of Scala, Spark, Airflow, and AWS environments (plus bonus).
- Expertise in tabular data modeling for classification/regression; familiarity with deep learning and embeddings is a plus.
- Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and cross‑functional collaboration.
**Required Education & Certifications:**
- Master’s degree or PhD in Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or related field (preferred).
- Relevant certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Machine Learning, Azure ML, or comparable) are an advantage but not mandatory.
