Job title: Automation System Commissioning Engineer (F/M)
Role Summary:
Implement, test, and validate automated plant equipment during commissioning. Execute on‑site installation, configure control systems, perform functional and performance tests, diagnose issues, document procedures, train operators, report progress, and support production and after‑sales activities. Frequent travel (≈90 % of time) across national sites, typically Monday–Friday.
Expectations:
- Complete commissioning projects independently and maintain high client confidence.
- Deliver accurate technical documentation and user training.
- Manage schedules, logs, and anomaly tracking.
- Demonstrate customer‑service orientation and strong communication skills.
- Adapt to nationwide travel and extended trips beyond 300 km.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Configure, program, and test PLCs, HMIs, drives, and related automation hardware during development phases.
2. Perform on‑site commissioning: upload programs, set parameters, fine‑tune functional settings, conduct performance tests, and troubleshoot faults.
3. Prepare detailed technical documentation – manuals, schematics, procedures, and test reports.
4. Train plant operators and maintenance staff on equipment operation and basic maintenance.
5. Maintain regular reporting on intervention status, progress, and outstanding issues.
6. Provide on‑call support to production and, when required, to after‑sales service teams.
Required Skills:
- Proficiency in PLC programming (e.g., Siemens, Allen‑Bradley, or equivalent).
- Experience with HMI design, drive configuration, and fieldbus networks (PROFIBUS, EtherCAT, CANopen, etc.).
- Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting capabilities in industrial automation.
- Competence in producing technical documentation and training materials.
- Excellent oral and written communication in French and English; basic Spanish advantageous.
- Self‑directed, highly organized, meticulous, and customer‑focused.
- Mobility for frequent national travel; ability to work on extended assignments.
- Skilled in office productivity tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, CAD schematics).
Required Education & Certifications:
- Bachelor of Engineering (BSc) or Master’s (BAC+5) in Automation, Industrial Computing, Mechatronics, or related field, or equivalent.
- Minimum 1 year of hands‑on commissioning experience with automated factory systems.
- No mandatory industry certifications required, though familiarity with IEC or ISO standards is a plus.
