Job Description
**Job Title:** Senior Business Analyst – Financial Planning & Analysis (Full Time) **Role Summary:** Provide advanced financial analysis, modelling, and business case development for corporate, strategic, and capital projects. Serve as the finance consultant for managers, directors, and vice‑presidents, advising on financial risks, opportunities, and funding strategies. Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial performance monitoring across hospital programs. **Expectations:** - Deliver comprehensive fiscal insight on major capital projects and operational activities. - Identify and evaluate financial risks and opportunities; recommend action plans to senior leadership. - Produce clear business cases, proposals, briefing notes, and presentations for inter‑departmental and executive review. - Maintain high data quality and accuracy in financial and statistical reporting. - Provide financial coaching, training, and tool‑advice to management teams. **Key Responsibilities:** 1. Conduct financial analysis and modelling for corporate/strategic capital projects. 2. Draft business cases, funding proposals, and briefing notes for approval. 3. Prepare, review, and monitor operating and capital budgets; forecast financial results. 4. Coordinate operating‑budget and capital‑budget planning, managing the internal budgeting system. 5. Analyze financial performance, identify variances, and recommend corrective actions. 6. Coach and train managers on business acumen and financial tools. 7. Support senior management in strategy development and financial decision‑making. 8. Ensure compliance with health and safety and other regulatory reporting requirements. **Required Skills:** - Advanced analytical and problem‑solving abilities. - Strong business writing and presentation skills. - Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word); advanced Excel functions. - Ability to communicate complex financial concepts to non‑financial audiences. - Experience with financial modelling and business case development. - Familiarity with Ontario Healthcare Reporting Standards (OHRS) and Ontario Cost Distribution Model (OCDM) is preferred. **Required Education & Certifications:** - Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, or related field. - Master’s degree in Business Administration, Health Administration, or equivalent preferred. - Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) designation preferred. - Minimum 3 years of experience in a financial analyst role within a healthcare or capital‑project environment.
