Job title: IT Technician (AI Sector)
Role Summary: Supports daily IT operations for an AI-focused technology organization, ensuring reliable hardware, software, and network environments that enable data‑driven models and innovation.
Expectations: Deliver timely, high‑quality IT support, maintain operational stability, contribute to continuous improvement of systems, and collaborate with cross‑functional teams on AI infrastructure needs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide end‑user support (desktop, laptop, and mobile) via help‑desk channels.
- Manage hardware and software inventory; schedule procurements and lifecycle tasks.
- Install, configure, and troubleshoot operating systems, productivity tools, and AI development platforms.
- Maintain and monitor servers, virtual machines, and network devices for performance and security.
- Implement backups, disaster recovery procedures, and data integrity checks.
- Assist with network configuration, VPNs, Wi‑Fi, and firewall settings.
- Monitor system logs, investigate alerts, and conduct root‑cause analysis.
- Create and update documentation for processes, configurations, and troubleshooting guides.
- Collaborate with data science and engineering teams to provision compute resources for AI training and inference.
- Participate in project planning for infrastructure upgrades or migration initiatives.
- Promote best practices for cyber‑security hygiene and compliance.
Required Skills:
- Proficient with Windows, macOS, and Linux operating systems.
- Experience supporting virtualization (VMware, Hyper‑V, or similar) and cloud services (AWS, Azure, GCP).
- Familiarity with networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, DHCP, DNS, routing, switching).
- Basic knowledge of AI/ML infrastructure (GPU servers, Docker, Kubernetes, GPU drivers).
- Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and documentation skills.
- Excellent communication and customer‑service abilities.
- Self‑motivated, proactive, and eager to learn emerging technologies.
Required Education & Certifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
- Relevant certifications preferred: CompTIA A+, Network+, Security+, or Microsoft Certified: Azure Fundamentals / AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Associate.
