Job Description
**Job Title** Summer Student, Maintenance **Role Summary** Assist building maintenance staff with exterior grounds, equipment, and building care. Perform preventive and corrective maintenance, uphold quality assurance standards, and maintain a safe, infection‑controlled environment. **Expectations** - Full‑time high‑school student (Grade 10+) or post‑secondary student, ≥16 years old. - Legally entitled to work in Canada; plans to resume studies in fall. - Proactive, independent worker who can also collaborate in a team. - Demonstrates strong organizational, decision‑making, and problem‑solving skills. - Maintains professionalism, respect for cultural diversity, and confidentiality. - Prioritises tasks in a changing environment and follows safety regulations. **Key Responsibilities** - Coordinate with colleagues to foster teamwork. - Maintain tools, materials, and work areas in clean, safe, and orderly condition. - Operate grounds equipment (mowers, weed‑eaters, etc.) and conduct routine maintenance. - Perform general maintenance duties within skill limits; report need for additional assistance. - Follow safety and environmental protocols for building and grounds upkeep. - Identify training needs and notify supervisor. - Undertake additional duties as assigned. **Required Skills** - Operation of various grounds‑related equipment. - Effective interpersonal and oral/written communication. - Independent decision‑making and problem solving. - Ability to prioritise and work under changing conditions. - Ability to maintain professional conduct and confidentiality. - Respect for culturally diverse populations. **Required Education & Certifications** - Minimum Grade 10 (high school) or equivalent post‑secondary study. - Age ≥ 16 years. - Legal work authorization in Canada. ---
