Job Description
**Job title** Scrum Master & Agile Coach **Role Summary** Lead, coach, and train IT team leads and agile teams in Scrum and Kanban practices to build self‑organizing, high‑performing cross‑functional units. Facilitate ceremonies, remove impediments, maintain prioritized backlogs, foster continuous improvement, and ensure adherence to chosen frameworks and best practices. **Expectations** * Demonstrate servant‑leadership, enabling teams to own processes and outcomes. * Deliver evidence‑based training, documentation, and living working agreements that reinforce discipline and transparency. * Enable teams to consistently deliver incremental value, meet IT leadership priorities, and sustain measurable improvements. **Key Responsibilities** * Facilitate daily stand‑ups, sprint planning, backlog refinement, sprint reviews, retrospectives, and Kanban progress meetings. * Coach IT team leads on Scrum/Kanban principles, backlog hygiene, WIP limits, visual workflow, and incident/impediment resolution. * Analyze dependencies, blockers, and capacity; partner with Technical Leads and IT Management to prioritize and adjust the product backlog. * Foster collaboration across technical, architectural, security, and stakeholder groups; coordinate with GDOT IT for hand‑offs. * Document and update living working agreements, training materials, and best‑practice guides in Confluence/Jira. * Promote continuous improvement through retrospectives, action item tracking, and iterative deployment processes. * Use Atlassian, ServiceNow, MS Teams, and Office365 to support communication, task tracking, and knowledge sharing. **Required Skills** * Minimum 5 years of experience with Agile teams. * Deep knowledge of Scrum and Kanban methodologies and their core principles. * Strong facilitation, coaching, and mentoring abilities with documentation proficiency. * Proven capacity to identify, analyze, and remove impediments and conflicts. * Backlog management, prioritization, and alignment with leadership objectives. * Excellent communication skills for cross‑functional collaboration. * Servant‑leadership mindset focused on team empowerment. * Proficiency with Atlassian Suite (Jira, Confluence), ServiceNow Agile/ITSM modules, MS Teams, and Office 365. **Required Education & Certifications** * Scrum Master certification (CSM, PSM I, or equivalent) mandatory; additional Agile certifications preferred (e.g., APMG‑Agile/PMI‑CoP). ---
