**Job Title**
Engineering Manager
**Role Summary**
Lead and develop multiple technical teams that design, build, and maintain the global e‑commerce platform, ensuring delivery of high‑quality, secure, and scalable services. Act as a bridge between product, architecture, infrastructure, and external partners, driving continuous improvement of engineering practices and team performance.
**Expectations**

- Champion Agile, DevOps, and security practices in a micro‑services, event‑driven environment.
**Key Responsibilities**
- Manage and mentor technical leaders and their development teams, setting clear objectives and providing regular feedback.
- Prioritize and manage technical backlogs, ensuring balanced workload and alignment with business priorities.
- Define and monitor performance metrics for engineering teams; drive data‑driven improvements.
- Resolve dependencies, blockers, and technical risks across teams.
- Oversee resource availability, tooling, and infrastructure readiness.
- Support CTO on staffing plans, recruitment, and organizational design for the technical domain.
- Facilitate Agile ceremonies (stand‑ups, retrospectives, planning) and promote continuous improvement.
- Ensure adherence to best practices: architecture design, TDD, CI/CD, DevSecOps, observability, and secure coding.
- Serve as a constant partner with Product Managers, PO’s, and external stakeholders to align technical decisions with business outcomes.
- Manage contractual relationships with selected external technical partners.
**Required Skills**
- Proven leadership and team‑management experience (5+ years in an engineering leadership role).
- Deep technical knowledge of micro‑services, event‑driven architectures, and headless e‑commerce systems.
- Hands‑on expertise in JavaScript/TypeScript, PHP, Node.js (Express, Nest.js), Symfony, ReactJS.
- Strong understanding of Kubernetes, Docker, GitLab CI/CD, Terraform, and cloud event services (Kafka, Kinesis, SQS).
- Experience implementing TDD, automated testing, and continuous delivery pipelines.
- Familiarity with DevSecOps principles and observability best practices.
- Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and conflict resolution skills.
- Analytical mindset with the ability to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
- Comfortable recruiting, defining career paths, and building high‑performing teams.
**Required Education & Certifications**
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
- Significant experience (5+ years) leading multi‑team software engineering programs in an Agile environment.
- Professional certifications are a plus: Agile (PMI‑ACP, SAFe), Cloud (AWS, Azure, GCP), or DevOps (DevOps Foundation, GitLab Certified) but not mandatory.
