Job Description
**Job Title:** IT Support Specialist **Role Summary:** Provide hands‑on technical support to end‑users, maintain Windows and Linux client systems, administer Microsoft 365 and on‑premises Active Directory, and assist senior IT staff with server, network, and security tasks. Support daily IT operations, incident resolution, and project implementation in an onsite environment. **Expectations:** - 3–5 years of experience in IT or systems support. - Ability to work onsite in the Lower Mainland (Richmond, BC) with limited remote work. - Strong troubleshooting, multitasking, and communication skills. - Willingness to follow escalation procedures and adhere to SLA standards. **Key Responsibilities:** 1. **System Administration** – Support Windows and Linux clients; assist with server administration; manage user and device accounts in Microsoft 365 and Active Directory; track hardware/software assets. 2. **Network Security** – Help configure switches, VPN clients, and connectivity; monitor and document network/security incidents; forward critical issues to senior staff. 3. **Technical Support** – Resolve hardware, software, access, and connectivity tickets; log issues and resolutions in the ticketing system; meet SLA targets. 4. **Project Support** – Participate in system upgrades, migrations, and technology rollouts; execute test plans; validate post‑implementation performance. **Required Skills:** - Proficiency with Windows OS, Linux client environments, and Microsoft 365. - Experience with user provisioning, device deployment, and basic Active Directory tasks. - Familiarity with ticketing/RMM tools and asset management. - Solid troubleshooting across hardware, software, and network layers. - Effective written and verbal communication. - Ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a 50+ user corporate setting. **Required Education & Certifications:** - Diploma, degree, or certificate in Information Technology or a related field. - Preferred (not required): Certifications such as CompTIA A+, Network+, Microsoft Certified: Modern Desktop Administrator Associate, or equivalent. - Desirable exposure to PowerShell/Bash scripting and networking fundamentals (DNS, DHCP, VPN).
