Job title: Salesforce Back‑End Developer
Role Summary:
Responsible for designing, configuring, coding, testing, and deploying enterprise‑level Salesforce solutions that capture, validate, and publish compliance data for public water systems. Works closely with security, architecture, and data migration teams to ensure secure, scalable integrations and meet state IT standards.
Expectations:
- Lead technical design and implementation of Salesforce back‑end components for clients in the public sector.
- Deliver secure, compliant code (Apex, SOQL, SOSL) and conduct unit testing, quality checks, and stakeholder approvals.
- Maintain traceability of requirements through design, implementation, and testing phases.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and document the Salesforce solution architecture, data model, and integration interfaces.
- Configure database objects, fields, validation rules, and security settings.
- Develop Apex classes, triggers, batch jobs, and API integrations; perform unit, integration, and performance testing.
- Ensure compliance with information security standards, state regulations, and internal best practices.
- Create and manage pre‑production and production environments, including deployment pipelines.
- Support data migration planning, data mapping, and transformation activities.
- Draft technical specifications, interface documents, test plans, and transition documentation.
- Communicate design decisions, risks, and mitigation plans to senior architects and operations teams.
- Provide technical recommendations, roadmaps, and evaluate new tools or platforms.
- Conduct knowledge transfer and training for end users and support teams.
Required Skills:
- 5+ years of experience designing and programming electronic data processing systems, with at least 3 years in a lead role.
- Strong proficiency in Salesforce configuration, Apex development, and related technologies (Visualforce, Lightning, REST/SOAP APIs).
- Familiarity with data integration patterns, ETL processes, and data migration tools.
- Experience with DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, and version control (e.g., Git).
- Knowledge of security standards, access controls, and compliance frameworks for state/government data.
- Excellent analytical, problem‑solving, and documentation skills.
- Ability to communicate complex technical concepts to non‑technical stakeholders.
Required Education & Certifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related field.
- Salesforce certifications (e.g., Platform Developer I/II, Salesforce Administrator) preferred but not mandatory.
