Job Description
Job title: Environmental Engineer Role Summary: Part‑time, nine‑month contract supporting environmental engineering during the FEED phase of an international EPC project. Responsibilities include permitting, compliance, risk assessment, stakeholder liaison and documentation for a COMAH‑regulated site. Expactations: Deliver timely and accurate environmental support, maintain regulatory compliance, provide risk‑mitigation advice, and integrate environmental considerations into engineering plans. Ensure consistent documentation and stakeholder communication throughout the contract. Key Responsibilities - Provide environmental engineering support during the FEED phase. - Assist with permitting processes and ensure compliance with UK environmental regulations. - Support environmental management for a COMAH‑regulated site. - Advise on environmental risk assessments and mitigation strategies. - Collaborate with project teams to incorporate environmental factors into engineering and construction plans. - Liaise with regulatory bodies and stakeholders as required. - Contribute to environmental compliance documentation and reporting. - Support documentation control and coordinate with the planning team as needed. Required Skills - Proven experience in environmental management and permitting for industrial or COMAH sites. - Strong knowledge of UK environmental regulations and compliance standards. - Ability to conduct environmental risk assessments and develop mitigation strategies. - Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills. - Collaborative teamwork and project coordination abilities. Required Education & Certifications - Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Engineering or a related discipline. - Relevant certifications in environmental management (e.g., NEBOSH, IChemE, or equivalent) are an advantage.
