**Job Title:**
DevOps Software Engineer III
**Role Summary:**
Lead and execute end‑to‑end release management for a large ecommerce platform, designing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines, automating build, test, and deployment workflows, and ensuring reliable delivery across multiple environments. Collaborate closely with development, QA, and IT to drive agile practices and continuous improvement of release processes.
**Expectations:**
- Deliver stable, timely releases with minimal incidents.
- Drive automation and efficiency in the release lifecycle.
- Maintain clear documentation and metrics to support decision making.
- Communicate effectively across cross‑functional teams.
**Key Responsibilities:**
- Plan, schedule, and execute releases, serving as primary point of contact for incidents.
- Design, maintain, and optimize CI/CD pipelines using tools such as Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD, or Azure DevOps.
- Automate build, test, and deployment stages with scripting (YAML, Python, Bash).
- Manage version control repositories, enforce branching/merging strategies, and ensure code integrity.
- Implement configuration management and infrastructure‑as‑code (Terraform or AWS CloudFormation).
- Monitor post‑release performance, coordinate rollbacks, and generate progress reports.
- Participate in agile ceremonies (daily stand‑ups, grooming, retrospectives) and promote best practices.
- Document release procedures, deployment environments, and issue tracking processes.
- Apply change‑management processes to minimize deployment risk.
- Use monitoring and alerting tools (DataDog, ELK stack) to maintain observability.
**Required Skills:**
- 5+ years in DevOps, release management, or related roles.
- Proficient with CI/CD platforms (Jenkins, GitLab CI, Azure DevOps).
- Strong Git experience; solid branching strategy knowledge.
- Hands‑on scripting in YAML, Python, Bash.
- Infrastructure‑as‑code with Terraform or AWS CloudFormation.
- Familiarity with VMWare, Octopus Deploy, and containerization concepts.
- Knowledge of Agile/Scrum methodologies and sprint participation.
- Ability to create and maintain monitoring dashboards (DataDog, ELK).
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
**Required Education & Certifications:**
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
- DevOps‑related certifications (e.g., AWS Certified DevOps Engineer, Azure DevOps Engineer) strongly preferred.
