Job Description
**Job Title** Fall 2025 Engineer Intern/Co‑op – Underground Construction & Tunneling **Role Summary** Full‑time, on‑site engineering internship or co‑op focused on underground construction and tunneling projects. Provides hands‑on experience in civil engineering design, safety planning, project coordination, and quality control during field operations. **Expectations** - Must be a currently enrolled undergraduate student in Civil, Mechanical, Construction Engineering & Management, or a related program. - Completed at least sophomore year of study. - Ability to work full‑time (40+ hours/week) on site; relocation may be required. **Key Responsibilities** - Apply engineering and management principles to support project execution. - Assist development and implementation of safety plans. - Conduct site audits, material testing, and daily field engineering tests. - Perform inventory checks, cost analyses, and production tracking. - Prepare change orders, track production, and maintain project documentation. - Support drawing preparation (methods, field, estimating, scheduling, surveying). - Help with procurement, procurement documentation, and quality assurance reviews. - Maintain records, process charts/graphs, designs, and proposals. - Perform additional field tasks as directed. **Required Skills** - Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities. - Leadership potential and decision‑making aptitude in fast‑paced environments. - Proficiency in AutoCAD (preferred). - Familiarity with civil engineering software and tools. - Physical ability to perform field tasks, including lifting up to 25 lb, climbing, kneeling, and working in outdoor conditions. - Effective communication, both verbal and written. **Required Education & Certifications** - Enrolled in an accredited Civil, Mechanical, Construction Engineering & Management, or equivalent program. - Completed at least two years of study (sophomore year). - No specific certifications required at this stage, but knowledge of construction safety standards and basic surveying methods is beneficial.
