**Job title**
Assistant – Systems Development / Systems Administration (Bachelor level)
**Role Summary**
Provide support for the installation, configuration, and maintenance of hardware and software across Windows and Linux environments. Manage user accounts, printers, backups, and system updates while ensuring reliable operation of internal IT services. Coordinate tasks within the helpdesk, document procedures, and collaborate with business units to deliver efficient IT solutions.
**Expectations**
- Deliver prompt, structured incident resolution.
- Maintain accurate inventory and supervision of the IT fleet.
- Produce clear documentation and guidelines.
- Communicate effectively in French (excellent) and Dutch (B2 passive / B1 active).
- Demonstrate initiative, organization, and a service‑oriented mindset.
**Key Responsibilities**
- Install, configure, and troubleshoot hardware, software, and internal systems.
- Administer Windows and Linux servers, Active Directory, user accounts, and printers.
- Perform backups, updates, and routine system monitoring.
- Plan and allocate tasks for technicians and helpdesk personnel.
- Resolve technical incidents, providing timely solutions and follow‑up.
- Manage IT asset inventory and supervise monitoring tools.
- Author internal guides, procedures, and best‑practice documents.
- Coordinate with business teams and external partners on IT initiatives.
**Required Skills**
- Strong foundational IT knowledge.
- Proficiency in Windows and Linux system administration.
- Experience with Active Directory, user management, and printing services.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office, Teams, SharePoint, and collaborative tools.
- Basic cybersecurity awareness and application of security practices.
- Excellent communication, teamwork, and instructional abilities.
- Self‑discipline, organizational rigor, and a proactive, solution‑oriented attitude.
**Required Education & Certifications**
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent professional experience (minimum 3 years in IT).
- Final year computer science student acceptable provided degree is obtained before start.
- Certifications in Windows, Linux, or related technologies are advantageous but not mandatory.
