**Job Title** Engineering Manager **Role Summary** Lead and scale a high‑performing core engineering team in a fast‑growing, remote environment. Manage people, delivery, and technical strategy, ensuring predictable, quality output while driving architectural excellence and cross‑functional alignment. **Expectations** - Build and lead a team of 8–12 engineers, fostering ownership, accountability, and continuous improvement. - Deliver end‑to‑end solutions on time, balancing speed, reliability, and technical debt. - Serve as a technical adviser on design, architecture, scalability, and best practices. - Partner closely with Product, DevOps, ML, and other stakeholders in a fully remote setting. **Key Responsibilities** 1. **People Management** – Mentor, coach, and grow engineers; conduct 1:1s, performance reviews, hiring, onboarding, and retention. 2. **Delivery & Execution** – Own planning, prioritization, risk identification, and blocker removal; ensure timely, high‑quality releases. 3. **Technical Oversight** – Review architecture, code quality, testing, security, observability; promote CI/CD and modern engineering practices. 4. **Cross‑Functional Collaboration** – Translate business/product goals into engineering plans; coordinate with Product, DevOps, ML, and other teams. **Required Skills** - 8+ years in software engineering, 3+ in engineering management or tech lead. - Deep backend expertise (PHP, Python, Go, Rust, or equivalent); solid distributed systems knowledge. - Proven system‑design, API, performance, and scalability experience. - Strong people‑leadership: empathy, clarity, mentorship ability. - Excellent written and verbal communication; self‑directed in remote work. - Familiarity with CI/CD, code reviews, automated testing, monitoring, and security fundamentals. **Required Education & Certifications** - Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field. - No mandatory certifications, but relevant vendor or platform certifications (e.g., AWS, GCP, Azure) are a plus. ---
