**Job Title**
Solution Architect (Contract)
**Role Summary**
Design, develop, and govern scalable, secure enterprise solutions across data, AI, integration, and driver‑app domains. Translate business needs into architectural artifacts, drive technical adoption of cloud and data‑pipeline technologies, and ensure solutions align with organizational standards and roadmap.
**Expactations**
- Deliver end‑to‑end architecture for new products and services in production.
- Maintain comprehensive documentation (architecture diagrams, data models, interface specs).
- Act as a technical subject matter expert supporting pre‑sales and in‑life system initiatives.
- Collaborate with architects, product owners, and engineering leaders to evaluate and adopt new technologies.
- Ensure compliance with cyber‑security, privacy, and governance policies.
**Key Responsibilities**
- Create and evolve architecture blueprints (BPMN, ArchiMate, UML) for infrastructure, data, integration, application, security, and services.
- Define and document data models for relational and NoSQL databases.
- Design cloud‑native patterns using AWS EKS/Kubernetes, serverless functions, and CI/CD pipelines (Git, branching, automated deployments).
- Lead solution reviews, architecture governance, and assurance processes across Toyota affiliate entities.
- Produce future‑roadmap documents, change impact analyses, and operating‑model adjustments.
- Work closely with product owners, enterprise architects, and software engineers to resolve complex technical problems.
- Mentor peers, provide technical guidance, and support knowledge transfer.
- Evaluate emerging processes, services, and tools, feeding improvements into the solution practice.
**Required Skills**
- Hands‑on solution architecture in a large organization; experience with difficult technical decisions.
- Proficiency in architectural frameworks (TOGAF, SOA) and documentation tools.
- Strong background in Java or comparable modern enterprise language.
- Expertise in container/ serverless environments (AWS EKS, Kubernetes) and data‑pipeline technologies (Kafka, Flink, AWS SNS/SQS/Kinesis).
- Solid understanding of CI/CD concepts, version control, secrets management, and automated deployments.
- Formal knowledge of data modelling, NoSQL/relational databases, diagramming (BPMN, ArchiMate, UML).
- Cyber‑security awareness: security‑by‑design, privacy‑by‑design, information governance.
- Excellent communication for both technical and non‑technical stakeholders.
- Automotive and/or IoT domain experience is a plus.
**Required Education & Certifications**
- Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or related field.
- TOGAF certification or equivalent enterprise architecture credentials.
- Relevant cloud architecture certification (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect) is desirable.
