Job Description
**Job Title:** Senior Cloud DevOps Engineer – AWS **Role Summary:** Leverage AWS services, automation, and CI/CD pipelines to enable secure, scalable delivery of enterprise applications, genomic research tools, and clinical-grade data analysis for a healthcare organization. Drive self‑service capabilities for development teams, optimize build and deployment workflows, and enforce cloud and security standards across hybrid environments. **Expectations:** * Design, develop, manage, and support full‑stack information system solutions that meet business and regulatory needs. * Collaborate with software engineers, QA, cloud architects, and infrastructure teams to streamline software delivery lifecycle. * Maintain operational health, troubleshoot issues, and implement security controls in line with institutional policies and industry best practices. **Key Responsibilities:** * Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines (e.g., CodePipeline, Jenkins, GitLab CI) using Infrastructure‑as‑Code (e.g., CloudFormation, Terraform). * Provision, configure, and monitor AWS resources (EC2, RDS, S3, ECS/EKS, Lambda, IAM, VPC). * Automate deployment, scaling, and rollback of containerized and serverless workloads. * Implement monitoring, logging, and alerting with CloudWatch, CloudTrail, and third‑party tools (Datadog, Splunk). * Design and enforce security controls: IAM policies, security groups, encryption at rest/in transit, network segmentation, vulnerability scanning, and compliance audits. * Diagnose and resolve production incidents, conduct root‑cause analysis, and document remediation steps. * Provide technical support and guidance to end‑users and development teams on DevOps practices and tools. * Participate in capacity planning, performance tuning, and cost optimization in AWS. * Collaborate with cloud architects on hybrid‑cloud strategy, integrating on‑premise and cloud environments. **Required Skills:** * Advanced knowledge of AWS services (compute, storage, networking, security, DevOps). * Strong scripting skills (Python, Bash, PowerShell). * Experience with container orchestration (ECS, EKS, Docker, Kubernetes). * Proficiency in IaC (Terraform, CloudFormation). * CI/CD pipeline design using modern tools (Jenkins, GitLab CI, GitHub Actions). * Cloud security fundamentals; hands‑on with IAM, KMS, GuardDuty, Config, Security Hub. * Monitoring/logging expertise (CloudWatch, CloudTrail, CloudWatch Logs, third‑party integrations). * Troubleshooting, incident response, and root‑cause analysis. * Familiarity with healthcare data privacy regulations (HIPAA, HITECH). * Strong collaboration, communication, and decision‑making abilities. **Required Education & Certifications:** * Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience). * 5+ years of professional experience in Information Technology/DevOps. * Preferred certifications: * AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Associate/Professional * AWS Certified DevOps Engineer – Professional * Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) or equivalent security credentials.
