**Job Title:** DevOps Engineer
**Role Summary:**
Design, deploy, and operate cloud-based, highly available, and secure applications in a multi‑cloud AWS environment. Automate infrastructure and CI/CD pipelines, collaborate with cross‑functional teams, and continuously improve operational efficiency, scalability, and reliability.
**Expectations:**
- Deliver production‑ready infrastructure and application deployments within defined SLAs.
- Maintain high system uptime, performance, and security compliance.
- Communicate progress, risks, and solutions to stakeholders.
- Optimize costs through cost‑benefit analysis of infrastructure choices.
**Key Responsibilities:**
1. Build, deploy, and maintain applications and event‑driven services on AWS.
2. Develop and manage IaC (Terraform) and automated deployment pipelines (Jenkins or similar).
3. Define and enforce governance, security, and best‑practice policies for AWS workloads.
4. Design reusable cloud components and patterns aligned with security standards.
5. Collaborate with Ops, Security, and Product to enhance availability, scalability, and performance.
6. Automate repetitive tasks, reduce downtime, and improve operational consistency.
7. Set up and manage AWS resources (ELB/ALB, EC2, ECS, RDS, Lambda, CloudFront, S3, IAM, Route 53, DynamoDB, EFS, etc.).
8. Troubleshoot production incidents, coordinate resolution, and lead post‑mortem improvements.
9. Produce and maintain documentation: runbooks, disaster‑recovery plans, and infrastructure proposals.
10. Monitor health and performance, contribute to incident response, and implement process improvements.
**Required Skills:**
- Advanced automation of software deployments and continuous delivery.
- CI/CD expertise (Jenkins or equivalent).
- Strong AWS service knowledge: EC2, S3, EFS, RDS, Route 53, ELB/ALB, ECS, Lambda, CloudFront, IAM, DynamoDB.
- IaC with Terraform; familiarity with Ansible, Packer, or similar.
- Proficient in monitoring/observability tools: New Relic, CloudWatch, Datadog, Sumo Logic, ELK.
- Experience with source control (Git, GitHub, GitFlow).
- Containerization with ECS; familiarity with other orchestrators accepted.
- Middleware & web stack operation: Apache, NGINX, Tomcat, JBoss.
- Networking fundamentals: DNS, DHCP, SSH, HTTP, TCP/IP.
- Configuration scripting in YAML/JSON.
- Strong verbal and written communication; collaboration with global/remote teams.
**Required Education & Certifications:**
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (preferred) or equivalent practical experience.
- 5+ years of experience building and supporting large‑scale, business‑critical systems across the software delivery lifecycle.
