Job Description: **Job Title:** Mechanical Engineer Co‑Op Student **Role Summary:** A full‑time, 12‑week summer internship focused on mechanical engineering within a utility infrastructure setting. The role involves executing project tasks outlined in the Project Plan, collaborating with cross‑functional teams, and presenting project outcomes to senior leadership. The student will receive mentorship, develop professional communication and analytical skills, and contribute to continuous process improvement. **Expectations:** - Commit to 12 weeks of full‑time, on‑site work. - Demonstrate initiative, curiosity, and a proactive, positive attitude. - Maintain effective communication with managers, mentors, and stakeholders. - Participate in internship orientation, mid‑term, and closing sessions. - Adhere to safety protocols and corporate values of respect, integrity, and courage. **Key Responsibilities:** - Complete projects defined by management’s Project Plan. - Support team with short‑notice or urgent tasks. - Identify opportunities for process improvement and efficiency. - Communicate project status, roadblocks, and achievements. - Deliver a formal project presentation to senior leaders. - Engage in all intern‑program activities and documentation. - Transport to and from work location as required. **Required Skills:** - Strong written and verbal communication in English (bilingual a plus). - Analytical problem‑solving and high learning agility. - Ability to work independently and within a team across all seniority levels. - Leadership or team‑lead experience is a plus. - Positive, proactive mindset and openness to feedback. - Familiarity with safety practices around heavy equipment. - Willingness to travel if necessary. **Required Education & Certifications:** - Current enrollment in a mechanical or related engineering program; completion of at least 2 consecutive years of college‑level coursework preferred. - No prior internship required, though preferred. - No specific certifications required.
