Job Title: Technical Event Producer (Contract)
Role Summary
Responsible for designing, procuring, and executing technical infrastructure—including power, networking, AV, lighting, and simulcast—for a major flagship conference, ensuring seamless onsite delivery and adherence to brand quality standards.
Expactations
* Deliver technical infrastructure from planning through execution.
* Manage vendor relationships, contracts, budgets, and change orders.
* Lead cross‑team coordination, documentation, and status reporting.
* Uphold event safety, compliance, and operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead early‑stage technical planning for electrical, power distribution, and IT networking.
* Gather requirements from production, exhibit, partner, and events teams; translate into clear technical scopes.
* Issue RFPs, evaluate proposals, select electrical, networking, and infrastructure vendors; verify venue readiness.
* Oversee onsite installation, testing, validation, and hand‑off in collaboration with internal teams.
* Consolidate AV, lighting, and rental needs; run competitive RFPs, negotiate contracts, supervise deployment, setup, continuity, and strike.
* Define simulcast layout, screen/audio routing, and distribution; monitor logistics, placement, and feed reliability across locations.
* Build and maintain vendor relationships; manage schedules, change orders, daily communications, and financials.
* Develop and track budgets, reconcile invoices, and flag risks proactively.
* Provide project updates, documentation, and cross‑team planning meetings.
* Maintain event databases, budget tools, and operational materials.
Required Skills
* Minimum 5 years in technical event production with progressive responsibility.
* Proven vendor and contract management expertise.
* Advanced knowledge of event power, IT networking, AV systems, simulcast workflows, and equipment rental.
* Strong communication, stakeholder management, and collaborative skills.
* Highly organized, proactive, and able to perform under pressure.
* Proficient with Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, and Airtable.
Required Education & Certifications
* Degree or diploma in event management, project management, or a related field (desirable).
* Relevant certifications in event technology, networking, or project management preferred but not mandatory.
