SharePoint Engineer
Role Summary
Design, deploy, and manage SharePoint Online solutions across a national organisation, leading a full‑scale rollout to support multiple business units. Collaborate closely with project management, stakeholders, and cross‑functional teams to plan migrations, configure security and governance, develop custom sites with SPFx, and automate operations using PowerShell, Power Automate, and the SharePoint REST API.
Expactations
* 12‑month fixed‑term contract, initially, with potential for extension.
* Deliver a brand‑new SharePoint Online platform that meets diverse business unit requirements.
* Manage a large‑scale content migration, ensuring integrity, security, and minimal disruption.
* Provide technical ownership for SharePoint architecture, permissions, metadata strategies, and integrations with Microsoft 365 services.
Key Responsibilities
* Architect, configure, and maintain SharePoint Online environments (site collections, permissions, content types, metadata, search, Syntex).
* Plan and execute content migration using proven tools and methodologies, validating success through testing and user acceptance.
* Develop custom solutions with SPFx, PnP, REST API, and Power Automate to enhance user experience and process automation.
* Troubleshoot and resolve issues across SharePoint and related Microsoft 365 services, acting as the escalation point for complex problems.
* Advise on and enforce SharePoint governance, compliance, security best practices, and change management.
* Communicate technical designs, progress, and risks to non‑technical stakeholders, facilitating clear understanding and adoption.
* Work collaboratively in cross‑functional project teams, aligning SharePoint initiatives with broader organisational goals.
Required Skills
* Extensive hands‑on experience with SharePoint Online design, deployment, and management in complex environments.
* Deep knowledge of SharePoint architecture, security, permissions, metadata, and integration with Microsoft 365 technologies.
* Proficiency in SharePoint migration tools, large‑scale content transfer, and verification.
* Advanced troubleshooting skills across SharePoint and M365 services.
* Expertise in SharePoint Governance, compliance, and security best practices.
* Hands‑on experience with SPFx, PowerShell scripting, Power Automate, the SharePoint REST API, PnP libraries, and Syntex.
* Strong communication and stakeholder engagement abilities; able to translate technical solutions to non‑technical audiences.
* Experience managing change and working in cross‑functional project teams.
Required Education & Certifications
* Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent professional experience).
* Microsoft SharePoint and/or Microsoft 365 administration and developer certifications (e.g., MS-572, MS-600, CAMMA) highly preferred.
