Job Description
**Job Title:** Team Lead, Aerospace Cyber Engineering **Role Summary:** Lead and manage a multidisciplinary cybersecurity team focused on protecting aerospace systems and infrastructure. Drive the development and execution of security assessments, threat modeling, and risk mitigation strategies for space-related operations in alignment with DoD requirements. Collaborate with mission owners, intelligence personnel, and DoD customers to deliver actionable findings and rapid cyber solutions. **Expectations:** - US citizenship or eligibility to obtain a federal security clearance. - Remote work with up to 20% travel. - Seniority level: Mid‑Senior. - Full‑time employment. **Key Responsibilities:** 1. Oversee day‑to‑day operations of a cybersecurity team dedicated to aerospace systems. 2. Design, execute, and report on vulnerability assessments, penetration tests, and red‑team exercises for space‑borne and ground systems. 3. Translate threat intelligence and assessment results into clear, actionable recommendations for mission owners and intelligence leaders. 4. Interface with DoD stakeholders, ensuring compliance with DoD policies, standards, and mission assurance objectives. 5. Mentor and develop team members, fostering skills in space cyber, risk analysis, and incident response. 6. Maintain and improve security processes, tooling, and documentation to support rapid, repeatable security assurance cycles. 7. Collaborate with program planners to integrate cyber solutions into mission plans and timelines. **Required Skills:** - Minimum 7 years of cybersecurity experience, including 4 years focused on space system security. - At least 2 years of mission assurance experience. - Proven leadership of cybersecurity teams. - Deep knowledge of DoD cyber frameworks (DoD 8570, NIST SP 800‑171, NIST SP 800‑30). - Experience with threat modeling, risk assessment, and vulnerability exploitation in aerospace contexts. - Strong communication skills for cross‑functional collaboration with intelligence and operational users. - Familiarity with DoD acquisition and contracting processes. **Required Education & Certifications:** - Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Information Technology, Aerospace Engineering, or related field. - DoD 8570 IAT Level II Certification (or equivalent) - Eligibility to obtain a federal security clearance.
