Job Description
**Job Title:** IT Security Intern **Role Summary:** Assist the cyber security team in protecting organizational digital assets through documentation, monitoring, threat hunting, and vulnerability assessment. Gain hands‑on experience with enterprise security tools and contribute to incident response and policy development. **Expectations:** - Deliver timely, accurate documentation and reports on security activities. - Communicate security concepts clearly to both technical and non‑technical stakeholders. - Demonstrate diligence, teamwork, and a proactive attitude toward learning and applying security best practices. **Key Responsibilities:** - Document security policies, procedures, and incident reports. - Monitor the IT environment to detect and mitigate potential cyber‑attacks. - Participate in threat hunting, detection, and the execution of vulnerability assessments and penetration tests under supervision. - Operate enterprise security tools (SIEM, EDR, IDPS, DLP, firewalls). - Monitor security alerts, assist with triage, and help resolve related ticket activities. - Collaborate with other interns and cross‑functional IT teams on shared projects. **Required Skills:** - Strong written communication; ability to explain security topics to diverse audiences. - Familiarity with security principles, practices, and technologies. - Knowledge of NIST and MITRE ATT&CK frameworks. - Basic understanding of networking, firewalls, SIEM, EDR, IDPS, and DLP concepts. - Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint). - Ability to work cross‑functionally within an IT environment. **Required Education & Certifications:** - Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Cyber Security Engineering, or a related field. - No specific certifications required; knowledge of NIST and MITRE ATT&CK frameworks is a must.
