**Job Title:** Chief Data Officer (Interim)
**Role Summary:**
Lead enterprise data strategy and architecture for a global financial services organization through a major transformation. Design and implement modern data platforms, oversee data‑driven AI product development, and deliver measurable business outcomes while maintaining board‑level influence and commercial focus.
**Expectations:**
* Drive rapid, measurable impact on data and AI initiatives.
* Align data strategy with business objectives and regulatory requirements.
* Secure executive sponsorship and influence board decisions.
* Deliver timely, high‑quality data products that support profitable initiatives.
* Operate with autonomy under tight interim timelines.
**Key Responsibilities:**
1. Develop and execute a comprehensive data strategy that spans governance, quality, security, and analytics.
2. Design, deploy, and optimize scalable data platforms (data lake, warehouse, real‑time pipelines).
3. Lead end‑to‑end delivery of data and AI products, ensuring alignment with commercial goals.
4. Establish data‑governance frameworks, including compliance, privacy, and risk controls.
5. Mentor and grow a high‑performance data, analytics, and science team.
6. Collaborate with CIO, COO, CFO, and other executive leaders to embed data culture organization‑wide.
7. Advise the board on data strategy, investment priorities, and performance metrics.
**Required Skills:**
* Proven executive experience (C‑level or equivalent) in data strategy within financial services or large, complex global enterprises.
* Deep knowledge of data architecture, cloud data platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP), and modern analytics tools.
* Strong AI/ML delivery experience, from model development to production deployment.
* Expertise in data governance, privacy regulations (GDPR, PCI‑DSS, etc.), and risk management.
* Exceptional leadership, stakeholder engagement, and board‑level communication.
* Ability to manage change in a fast‑moving, high‑stakes environment.
* Results‑oriented, with a track record of delivering commercial outcomes.
**Required Education & Certifications:**
* Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Finance, or related field (MBA preferred).
* Professional certifications (e.g., DAMA‑DMBOK, CISM, CCSP, Certified Data Management Professional, or relevant cloud/AI certifications) are highly desirable.
