Job title: Head of Platform
Role Summary: Senior leader accountable for designing, deploying, and operating a resilient, cloud‑native platform that supports scalable, secure application delivery across a multi‑cloud environment.
Expectations: Deliver a high‑performance, cost‑effective platform that meets >99.98% uptime, drives automation, and aligns infrastructure strategy with product roadmaps.
Key Responsibilities:
- Define and evolve the platform architecture, integrating IaC, container orchestration, and cloud services.
- Lead the implementation of IaC (Terraform, Ansible) and maintain AWS and Kubernetes clusters.
- Oversee CI/CD pipelines, Git workflows, and continuous monitoring of platform health.
- Mentor and manage a cross‑functional platform engineering team; set coding and operational standards.
- Coordinate incident response, root‑cause analysis, and post‑mortem processes to maintain service reliability.
- Collaborate with security, data, and product teams to embed security, compliance, and data‑management best practices.
- Manage platform budgeting, cost‑optimization initiatives, and vendor relationships.
Required Skills:
- Proven expertise in Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, Ansible).
- Deep experience with AWS services (EC2, EKS, RDS, S3, VPC).
- Hands‑on proficiency with Kubernetes, Docker, and cloud networking.
- Strong programming knowledge in Python, Go, and TypeScript.
- Solid Linux administration and shell scripting skills.
- Experience with relational (PostgreSQL) and NoSQL (MongoDB) databases.
- Familiarity with CI/CD, Git, and monitoring tools (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK).
- Understanding of microservices architecture, API gateways, and service mesh concepts.
- Leadership ability to mentor engineers, drive best practices, and manage cross‑functional projects.
Required Education & Certifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
- AWS Certified Solutions Architect, AWS Certified DevOps Engineer, or equivalent.
- Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA) or similar container certification preferred.
