Job Description
**Job title:** Azure Infrastructure Lead **Role Summary:** Lead the design, deployment, and continuous improvement of hybrid cloud and on‑premises infrastructure solutions, primarily using Microsoft Azure. Manage the end‑to‑end lifecycle of infrastructure projects, ensuring scalability, reliability, security, and cost efficiency while collaborating with cross‑functional teams. **Expectations:** - Deliver robust, scalable Azure infrastructures that meet business and regulatory requirements. - Drive best‑practice implementation of hybrid cloud strategies and governance. - Proactively monitor, optimize, and troubleshoot infrastructure performance and cost. - Mentor and guide junior infrastructure staff and coordinate with DevOps, security, and application teams. - Maintain clear, up‑to‑date architecture documentation and architectural roadmaps. **Key Responsibilities:** - Architect and implement Azure solutions (IaaS, PaaS, hybrid connectivity, networking, storage, backup, disaster recovery). - Design and enforce IaC using ARM templates, Terraform, or Bicep; implement CI/CD pipelines for infrastructure. - Manage on‑premises to Azure migrations and hybrid‑cloud integration (Site Recovery, VPN, ExpressRoute). - Define and enforce security controls: network security groups, Azure Firewall, AD/SSO integration, key management, compliance frameworks. - Monitor system health using Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, and Azure Security Center; respond to alerts and incidents. - Optimize resource allocation and cost through sizing, reserved instances, autoscaling, and cost‑analysis tools. - Produce architecture diagrams, run‑books, and standard operating procedures. - Collaborate with application owners to align infrastructure with deployment strategies and performance needs. - Provide technical guidance to additional IT teams and support operational compliance. **Required Skills:** - 3+ years of hands‑on Azure infrastructure experience (VMs, Virtual Networks, App Services, Azure Arc). - Proven expertise in hybrid cloud deployments (on‑prem VMware/Hyper‑V integration, Azure Stack, Azure Arc). - Strong networking knowledge (VLANs, VPN, ExpressRoute, subnets, NSGs). - Experience with IaC (ARM, Terraform, Bicep) and scripting (PowerShell, Python). - Deep understanding of security best practices, Azure Identity, RBAC, and compliance controls. - Monitoring, logging, and incident response skills using Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, and Azure Security Center. - Familiarity with cost‑management tools (Azure Cost Management, Advisor). - Excellent communication and documentation skills, with ability to translate technical concepts to non‑technical stakeholders. **Required Education & Certifications:** - Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. - Microsoft Azure certifications: * Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate (AZ‑104) * Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert (AZ‑305) – preferred * Additional credentials such as Azure DevOps Engineer Expert or Azure Security Engineer Associate are advantageous.
