**Job Title:** Intern – Data Engineer / Master’s Student (Final Year) **Role Summary:** Support the creation of a national Production Observatory for corn and sorghum seed producers. Design and implement a data platform to collect, structure, analyze, and visualize multi‑year production data, enabling strategic insights and decision‑making for the sector. **Expectations:** - Deliver a functional data tool (e.g., Power BI, Excel, R) within 6 months. - Produce statistical analyses, models, and interactive dashboards. - Provide clear reports and recommendations for future project phases. - Work autonomously while collaborating with agronomists, seed companies, and project mentors. - Demonstrate rigor, analytical thinking, and effective communication. **Key Responsibilities:** - Identify, gather, and clean data from public databases, internal sources, and surveys. - Design the database schema and data pipeline for longitudinal data storage. - Develop the analytical platform using Power BI, Excel, R (or equivalent). - Perform statistical analyses and forecasting models to anticipate production trends. - Create interactive dashboards and periodic reports for stakeholder use. - Contribute to strategic discussions on French seed production challenges and data‑driven solutions. - Suggest enhancements and roadmap items for the Observatory’s evolution. **Required Skills:** - Strong statistical knowledge and data analysis techniques. - Proficiency in data manipulation and visualization tools (Power BI, Excel, R, Python, or similar). - Ability to design and maintain structured datasets. - Basic understanding of agricultural/seed production context (preferred). - High level of autonomy, precision, and analytical mindset. - Effective written and oral communication in English (French a plus). **Required Education & Certifications:** - Currently enrolled in the final year of an engineering school or a Master’s program (M2) in Agronomy, Statistics, Data Science, Agricultural Economics, or a related field. - No specific certifications required; demonstrable competence with the listed tools is essential.
