About the Company

The European Cyber Security Organisation (ECSO) ASBL – www.ecs-org.eu – is a fully independent non-profit organisation under the Belgian law, established in June 2016. Since 2016, ECSO has been the privileged partner of the European Commission for the implementation of the European Cyber Security Public-Private Partnership (cPPP). ECSO works with its Members and Partners to develop a competitive European cybersecurity ecosystem providing trusted cybersecurity solutions protection the growth of the European Digital Single Market and advancing Europe’s cybersecurity posture while reducing its technological dependence. As of the end of 2022, ECSO is leading the strategic support action for the development of the European Cybersecurity Community (ECCO) in the frame of the ECCC regulation, gathering all European actors. ECSO Members include a wide variety of stakeholders such as large companies, SMEs and start-ups, research centers, universities, clusters and associations, users and operators, as well as local, regional and national administrations. ECSO Members originate from EU Member States, countries part of the European Economic Area (EEA), the European Free Trade Association (EFTA) and associated countries.

Job Description
**Job Title**: Trainee, Policy Analysis and Outreach Stream **Role Summary** Full‑time trainee (4–6 months) supporting EU cybersecurity policy analysis and outreach. Works within the Policy Analysis and Outreach Stream, monitoring EU legislation, conducting research, synthesizing findings, and coordinating event logistics. Provides conceptual notes, minutes, and dissemination materials to EU institutions and stakeholders. **Expectations** - Full‑time commitment, 4–6 months, adjustable - Hybrid work: office in Brussels 3 days/week, remaining days remote - Immediate integration into EU policy and cybersecurity research activities - Participation in mentorship and project‑based learning **Key Responsibilities** - Monitor and track EU cybersecurity policy developments (NIS2, Cyber Resilience Act, Cyber Solidarity Act). - Conduct desk research and qualitative analysis on specified cybersecurity topics (incident response, penalties, DNS security). - Draft concept notes, meeting minutes, and other dissemination material. - Organize substantive and logistical aspects of events on EU cybersecurity policy. - Prepare and deliver policy briefings and reports to stakeholders. **Required Skills** - Strong policy analysis and cybersecurity knowledge. - Familiarity with EU institutional functioning and key actors in EU cybersecurity. - Understanding of EU cybersecurity frameworks and legislation. - Basic grasp of cybersecurity concepts and ability to learn technical details. - Qualitative and analytical skills; synthesize complex information clearly and concisely. - Excellent professional writing and oral communication in English. - Project management: attention to detail, independent and team orientation, proactive and flexible. **Required Education & Certifications** - Currently enrolled in a university program eligible for credit/ECTS, e.g., Erasmus+. - No specific degree required; coursework or credit in public policy, international relations, or cybersecurity preferred. ---
