**Job title:** Salesforce Release Engineer/Manager
**Role Summary:**
Lead and manage the end‑to‑end release, deployment, and environment governance for enterprise Salesforce implementations within a federal defense context. Design and maintain secure ALM processes, CI/CD pipelines, sandbox strategies, and release calendars that comply with DoD cybersecurity, audit, and configuration‑management requirements.
**Expactations:**
- Maintain DoD security clearance and U.S. citizenship status.
- Deliver high‑quality, timely releases in a highly regulated environment.
- Produce audit‑ready documentation, change records, and rollback plans.
- Communicate release status and impact to federal stakeholders.
**Key Responsibilities:**
- Own release management lifecycle for federal programs, ensuring compliance with DoD standards (DISA SRG, NIST 800‑53).
- Define & enforce a secure ALM strategy: version control, sandbox strategy, branching/merging, release governance.
- Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines using SFDX, Metadata API, Git, and approved DevOps tools.
- Oversee all Salesforce orgs (DEV, QA, UAT, staging, prod) with least privilege, separation of duties, and strict governance.
- Manage release calendars, change‑freeze periods, CAB approvals, audit logs, and documentation.
- Execute deployments via packages, metadata deployments, and automated pipelines, ensuring testing, security scanning, and regression checks.
- Capture production changes (hotfixes), integrate into version control, and maintain configuration control for audit completeness.
- Partner with Architects, Developers, QA, Cybersecurity, and Product Owners to guarantee secure, reliable releases.
- Monitor Salesforce seasonal releases, assess impacts, and communicate security implications to clients.
- Prepare release documentation, change records, rollback plans, and audit‑ready artifacts.
**Required Skills:**
- 3–5+ years in Salesforce release engineering, DevOps, or ALM roles.
- Deep knowledge of Salesforce development lifecycle, metadata types, and deployment models.
- Expert in Salesforce release management, sandbox strategy, Git workflows, and CI/CD pipelines (SFDX, Ant).
- Experience with unlocked/managed packages, scratch orgs, and API‑based deployments.
- Proven track record in secure or regulated environments (DoD, DHS, FedRAMP High).
- Risk‑based deployment planning, rollback procedures, and operational readiness review experience.
- Strong communication skills for interfacing with technical and non‑technical federal stakeholders.
- Ability to produce audit‑ready artifacts and meet strict CM/QA processes.
**Required Education & Certifications:**
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
- Certified Salesforce Platform Development Lifecycle and Deployment Architect (preferred).
- Salesforce Certified Administrator, Platform App Builder, and/or Platform Developer I (preferred).
- Personnel must be able to maintain a DoD security clearance.
