**Job title:** 2026 Intern, PhD Research Scientist
**Role Summary:**
Serve as a research scientist within a multidisciplinary AI team to design, implement, and optimize algorithms for autonomous vehicle safety and performance. Drive cutting‑edge research in areas such as perception, prediction, motion planning, and AI core techniques, contributing directly to production systems.
**Expactations:**
- Pursuing a PhD in Computer Science, Engineering, AI, Machine Learning, Computer Vision, Robotics, or a closely related discipline.
- Deliver research outputs, including prototype algorithms and technical documentation.
- Publish results at top-tier machine learning, computer vision, and robotics conferences (e.g., NeurIPS, ICLR, ICML, CVPR).
- Actively collaborate with peers, share findings, and support knowledge transfer.
**Key Responsibilities:**
- Lead or contribute to AI research projects aimed at advancing autonomous vehicle technology.
- Design, implement, train, and optimize novel machine‑learning and perception algorithms on autonomous vehicle platforms.
- Build end‑to‑end pipelines for simulation, mapping, localization, and control that integrate new AI components.
- Prepare and submit research papers, presentations, and blog posts to external venues and internal communication channels.
- Participate in code reviews, knowledge sharing sessions, and cross‑functional design discussions.
**Required Skills:**
- Advanced programming proficiency in Python and/or C++.
- Strong quantitative foundation: linear algebra, calculus, probability, statistics.
- Experience with deep‑learning frameworks (PyTorch, TensorFlow) and robotics libraries (ROS, OpenCV).
- Demonstrated research or software development experience with tangible outputs (publications, code repositories).
- Excellent problem‑solving, analytical reasoning, and ability to translate theory into production‑grade solutions.
- Collaborative mindset, strong communication skills, and willingness to mentor junior team members.
**Required Education & Certifications:**
- Current enrollment in a PhD program in Computer Science, Engineering, AI, Machine Learning, Computer Vision, Robotics, or a closely related field.
