**Job Title** Cyber Security Consultant (Cyber Essentials Plus) **Role Summary** Provide expert guidance to organisations preparing for Cyber Essentials and Cyber Essentials Plus certification. Conduct readiness assessments, perform technical verification and light penetration testing, and deliver actionable audit reports. Serve as a client‑facing assurance specialist, collaborating with internal and client cyber teams and progressing toward accreditation as a Cyber Essentials Plus Lead Assessor. **Expectations** - Deliver high‑quality, client‑focused security advice and documentation. - Communicate technical findings clearly to both technical and non‑technical stakeholders. - Maintain UK residency and obtain/hold BPSS (or higher) security clearance. - Pursue continuous professional development toward Lead Assessor status. **Key Responsibilities** - Conduct Cyber Essentials readiness assessments and full Cyber Essentials Plus engagements. - Identify compliance gaps and advise clients on remediation actions. - Perform technical verification, including light penetration testing, to validate security controls. - Produce concise, actionable audit reports and recommendations. - Collaborate with clients’ cyber teams to enhance overall assurance offerings. - Support internal knowledge sharing and contribute to service development. **Required Skills** - Proven experience in technical cyber security or assurance roles (e.g., penetration testing, infrastructure testing). - Strong analytical and detail‑oriented approach to security assessments. - Excellent verbal and written communication skills for diverse audiences. - Ability to translate technical findings into practical guidance. - Passion for improving organisational security posture. **Required Education & Certifications** - Minimum of one IASME‑recognised qualification: - CREST Registered Penetration Tester (CRT) or CREST Certified Infrastructure Tester (CCT) - Cyber Scheme Team Member (CSTM) or Cyber Scheme Team Leader (CSTL) - EC‑Council Certified Security Analyst (ECSA) or Certified Penetration Testing Professional (CPENT) - Offensive Security Certified Professional (OSCP) - Practitioner, Principal, or Chartered Security Tester (UK Cyber Security Council) - Relevant degree or equivalent experience in Computer Science, Information Security, or related field (preferred).
