Job Description: **Job Title** AI / ML Engineer Internship (Unpaid for CPT / OPT Credit) **Role Summary** Develop and deploy machine‑learning models that power a legal‑tech matching platform. Translate research prototypes into production‑grade code, run experiments, and iterate rapidly while collaborating with product and engineering teams in a fully remote, startup environment. **Expectations** - Transition academic or research projects into scalable, production‑ready systems. - Work autonomously, manage end‑to‑end project ownership, and deliver measurable value. - Engage in rapid experimentation, continuous improvement, and clear documentation. - Communicate progress and technical decisions in an async‑first culture. **Key Responsibilities** - Design, implement, and evaluate ML/LLM models using Python, PyTorch/TensorFlow, and Hugging Face. - Build and maintain data preprocessing pipelines, vector stores (pgvector, Pinecone), and retrieval workflows. - Develop FastAPI/Express endpoints to expose model inference and API integration. - Conduct A/B tests and analyze model performance, ensuring alignment with business metrics. - Collaborate with product managers to translate requirements into technical specifications. - Write unit, integration, and system tests; maintain CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions, Docker). - Document designs, experiment artifacts, and operational procedures in a public codebase. **Required Skills** - Proficiency in Python and core ML/LLM libraries (PyTorch, TensorFlow, Hugging Face ecosystem). - Experience building, training, and deploying models; familiarity with experiment tracking and analytics. - Comfortable with RESTful API design (FastAPI, Express) and basic backend development. - Knowledge of databases (PostgreSQL, Redis) and vector DBs (PgVector, Pinecone). - Ability to interpret research papers and translate ideas into code. - Strong communication, problem‑solving, and self‑management in a remote setting. **Required Education & Certifications** - M.S.
