Job Title: Junior Software Engineer
Job Description: Job title: Junior Software Engineer Role Summary: Support the development and deployment of advanced fission reactor software. Design and maintain data pipelines, build visualization tools, integrate simulation engines, implement physics kernels, and develop optimization and statistical analysis methods to enhance reactor design and performance. Expectations: 0–2 years professional software engineering experience (internships, co‑ops, or significant projects). Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or equivalent. Strong curiosity, passion for nuclear power and sustainable energy, self‑motivated, collaborative, clear communicator, creative problem–solver, detail‑oriented. Comfortable working in an agile, fast‑paced startup environment. Key Responsibilities: - Transform and optimize reactor data storage and physics results. - Design, configure, and maintain CI/CD pipelines for multiphysics analyses. - Build web‑based tools for reactor engineers to visualize, compare, and evaluate designs. - Integrate simulation tools into analysis workflows. - Implement and optimize physics kernels to solve new or existing modeling challenges. - Develop reactor optimization schemes and design‑of‑experiments studies. - Identify and address process inefficiencies in reactor design using software solutions. Required Skills: - Proficiency in Python and Git. - Experience with CI/CD (GitLab preferred). - Familiarity with Rust and/or TypeScript/JavaScript (Svelte) is a plus. - Knowledge of optimization, statistics, or design‑of‑experiments concepts is advantageous. - Strong communication, teamwork, creativity, and attention to detail. Required Education & Certifications: - Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or equivalent work experience.
