Pediatric Oncology Group of Ontario (POGO) works to ensure that everyone affected by childhood cancer has access to the best care and support. We partner to achieve an excellent childhood cancer care system for children, youth, their families, survivors and healthcare teams in Ontario and beyond. POGO champions childhood cancer care, and as the collective voice of this community, is the official advisor to Ontario’s Ministry of Health (the Ministry) on children’s cancer control and treatment. POGO is a non-profit organization with charitable status, here for kids with cancer, for now, for life. POGO is an enduring collaboration with hospitals in Ontario with responsibility for diagnosing childhood cancer, and treating patients and survivors. Approximately 40 POGO team members are affiliated with the main POGO office, and many others work in POGO programs at partner hospitals across Ontario. Job Description
**Job Title** Marketing Specialist **Role Summary** Develop, coordinate, and execute digital marketing campaigns to enhance brand awareness, engage audiences, and support fundraising and program initiatives. Lead content creation, manage social media, oversee website performance and SEO/SEM, execute email campaigns, and analyze marketing metrics to inform strategy. **Expectations** - Deliver measurable growth in online reach and engagement. - Translate organizational goals into actionable marketing plans. - Maintain consistent brand voice across digital platforms. - Collaborate effectively with program teams and external partners. - Adhere to project timelines and budget constraints. **Key Responsibilities** - Create and curate engaging content for blogs, social media, newsletters, and email campaigns. - Manage and schedule posts on platforms (Meta, LinkedIn, Instagram, YouTube, etc.). - Oversee the organization’s website and microsites: content updates, UX improvements, and performance tracking. - Develop and optimize SEO and paid advertising (Google Search/Display, Meta, YouTube). - Lead email marketing strategy: segmentation, copywriting, automation, and performance analysis. - Establish KPIs, track performance, and produce regular analytics reports. - Build and maintain stakeholder relationships internally and externally. - Monitor media coverage, manage media calendar, and support additional marketing activities as needed. **Required Skills** - Strong written and verbal communication. - Proficiency in social media management tools (e.g., Hootsuite, Buffer). - Knowledge of SEO/SEM best practices and analytics platforms (Google Analytics, Google Ads, Facebook Business Manager). - Experience with email marketing platforms (e.g., Mailchimp, HubSpot). - Basic graphic design skills; proficient with Canva. - Ability to translate data insights into actionable marketing recommendations. - Project management skills: planning, scheduling, monitoring. - Creativity and adaptability in a fast‑moving environment. **Required Education & Certifications** - Diploma or bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Digital Media, Communications, or related field. - 3–5 years of marketing experience, preferably in non‑profit and/or healthcare settings. - Certifications in digital marketing, SEO, or social media (optional but advantageous).
