**Job Title:** Construction Director
**Role Summary:** Lead operational delivery of multiple high-value development projects, overseeing design, procurement, construction, and handover to meet time, cost, quality, safety, sustainability, and commercial objectives.
**Expectations:** Deliver projects on schedule and within budget, maintain compliance with public sector procurement regulations, enhance organisational delivery capability, build trusted relationships with public and private partners, and contribute strategically to business growth.
**Key Responsibilities:**
- Manage full project lifecycle across design, pre-construction, procurement, construction, and handover phases.
- Lead multidisciplinary teams, ensuring coordination of architects, consultants, contractors, and internal stakeholders.
- Apply and negotiate construction contracts (JCT preferred) and complex agreements, maintaining commercial rigour.
- Ensure compliance with safety, sustainability, quality, and public sector procurement standards.
- Drive operational performance improvements and standardise delivery processes.
- Build and sustain client-facing relationships with public sector bodies, private operators, and contractors.
- Provide senior leadership with performance reporting and strategic recommendations.
**Required Skills:**
- Extensive senior leadership experience in construction or development management (minimum 10 years).
- Proven track record of delivering large‑scale development projects.
- In‑depth knowledge of construction contracts, particularly JCT.
- Strong commercial negotiation and financial acumen.
- Leadership and team management capability.
- Excellent communication, stakeholder engagement, and client relationship skills.
- Commitment to safety, quality, sustainability, and regulatory compliance.
**Required Education & Certifications:**
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Architecture, or related field.
- Professional chartership preferred (MCIOB, MRICS, or MAPM).
