Job Description
Job title: Intern – Automation / I&C Engineer Role Summary Assist in the development and documentation of automation and instrumentation & control (I&C) systems for projects in the life sciences and food & beverage sectors. Work under senior engineers to create calculations, reports, drawings, and specifications, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements. Expectations - Complete internship program while gaining hands‑on engineering experience. - Collaborate across multidisciplinary teams, including vendors, clients, and contractors. - Apply academic knowledge to real‑world designs and project documentation. Key Responsibilities - Draft project documents: calculations, reports, construction drawings, and specifications. - Support conceptual design development and coordinate with design teams. - Liaise with internal (engineering, project management) and external stakeholders (vendors, clients, contractors). - Assist in ensuring documents meet regulatory and industry standards. - Analyze data sets and provide actionable insights for design decisions. Required Skills - Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, OneNote). - Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities. - Effective written and verbal communication across disciplines. - Willingness to learn and apply engineering principles in real projects. - Familiarity with engineering software (CAD, process modeling, calculation programs) is advantageous. Required Education & Certifications - Pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Architectural Engineering. - Registration or completion of the Fundamentals of Engineering examination preferred. - Knowledge of industry-specific regulations and standards within the AEC industry is preferred.
